7th Brabanste Modelbouwbeurs - 2014

This is one of the smaller shows in Belgium   The nice (dry) weather was a good occasion to get my classic car out of the garage after winter for a 40 kms drive south   Location was the recreation center of the city of Tienen   The pleasant spring weather brought out more nice classic cars   Cars you don't see so often anymore (much to my regret )   Entrance was free (as per usual at shows in Belgium)   A quick walk through the hall - checking out all the vendors   Ah... do I spot new Airfix kits !   Kids corner   If you fancied something else then plastic...   Or if you wanted to get into cars   The contest area - being a smaller, local show - was only one table   The aircraft section contained about 20 models   1/72 scale F-105G "Wild Weasel" Tunderchief   1/32 scale Albatros D.Va - as flown by Hans Joachim Hippel, Jasta 71   1/144 scale Rafale - in exotic 2013 Tiger Meet markings   1/72 scale Spitfire Mk.Ia - with a lot of details   1/72 scale Fw-190 in its shelter   1/72 scale Sukhoi Su-27   1/72 scale Hawker Hurricane - of the Belgian Air Force   1/48 scale Ta-152 - inspired by the graphic novels from Yann (I have to get me this series)   The Military Vehicle categories had more entries...   A late war 1/72 scale Panther Ausf.G tank   I love these big old trucks 1/35 scale Henschell - note the basket in the cargo bed   1/35 scale "whiffer" - a VK 1602 Leopard   1/35 scale Steyr 1500 Krankenwagen   1/35 scale KV-85 - one of the rarer subjects   1/35 scale Hetzer - note the white victory markings on the gun barel   1/35 scale Peugeot DMA - in Wehrmacht service   1/35 scale Puma - retreating from Normandy   1/35 scale SdKfz.250/9 neu   1/35 scale Dana in Czech service   1/35 scale M3 Stuart tank - somewhere in Normandy   1/35 scale T-34 - in a very nice winter display   ... the commander   1/35 scale LRDG Chevrolet   ... the crew   1/35 scale T-70 light tank   ... and the commander   1/35 scale Wespe crew on a break   1/35 scale M915 - converted into a Gun Truck (kit by Minimanfactory) ... in a post apocalypse diorama (I think)   ... giving the finger   ... maybe the young lady went one tattoo too far ?   To my surprise there were many figure models   Most categories were split in two sub categories : beginners and advanced The beginners category showed this interesting lady   Pilot   Viking - in the advanced category   Napoleon   USMC Guadelcanal   Crusader   Edwige   L'espoir (hope)   That must've been a big bird   Confederate grief   Christmass on the South Pole   Learning to fly   One of my favorite figure models : Comrades in arms - from Andrea Miniatures ... retreat from Moscow - 1812 Nice work !   There were several "Flat" figures This is Asterix & Obelix - two European comic book heroes   A small sober vignette... the war is over   There were some very nice Formule One cars in the contest   Including one of Senna's earlier rides   Senna himself   And we all know this   The junior category revealed a lot of figure models... The future is promises...   There were several clubs   Such as Model Club from Leuven   And a model club from one of our coastal towns   Promotion for a small local museum   Beauvechain is one of the few military air bases in Belgium - and not so far from Tienen   What could I buy ? Maybe a car... ?   I also needed some small rods...   Some kits you usually don't see that often on vendor tables   A collection of old riffles (not for sale)   It was a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon ... getting some inspiration and talking to a few old friends   ... and buying some kits   Thank you for your interest and support All comments, remarks, corrections, suggestions are welcome Visitor counter automatically reset from 311 to 0 on January 22nd 2016, after 30 days with no visits The downside of a free counter ...
