Early May brings us the Beskyd Model Kit Show

It is one of the bigger model shows in Moravia - or eastern Czech Republic

I picked up my girlfriend in Prague

And together we headed east on Wednesday afternoon

... a lazy 5 hours drive (350 km)

Arriving late in the evening in the small town of Příbor

For a mini vacation of two days in the region

Hiking in the mountains to the Slovakian border

... where it was raining

And exploring "our" small town of Příbor

Where we discovered this old beautiful house

With an interesting statue of a bench

... a statue of a bench - really !!???

Aha - indeed

Travelling and meeting interesting persons is always fun !

On Saturday morning we left for Kopřivnice

A 10 kms drive south

And the location of the Kit Show

... also known as the Beskyd Model show

The entrance fee was 30 CZK, about 75 eurocent...

The contest area

The aircraft categories

1/72 scale : Junkers Ju-88G-6

1/72 scale : Vickers Wellington Mk.Ic - in German markings

1/72 scale : Zlin C.226M

... the KP kit which was released only a short time before this show took place

1/72 scale : Fokker D.XXI (MPM)

1/72 scale : Supermarine Southampton Mk.I

1/72 scale : F-105G Thunderchief - Trumpeter

1/72 scale : MiG-19S

... yep, the old classic KP kit

1/72 scale : Sukhoi T-4 Sotka

1/48 scale : Seversky P-35

1/48 scale : Supermarine Spitfire PR.XIX - Airfix

My favorite model in the contest - because of the fabulous weathering

You can still see the RAF roundels !

1/72 scale : Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IXc

1/72 scale : Messerschmitt Me-262A-1a U4 (Hobby Boss)

I liked this "old industrial" diorama

Especially with the classic Tatra and Mercedes busses

What-If SIG

... in 1/72 scale

A collection of Tatra fire engines

... in 1/87 scale

The show also has a lot of other activities going on

... such as reenactors

Including a Kübelwagen

... and several sidecars

My girlfriend liked watching the small train passing slowly by

Large scale rolling stock

Most main Czech kit manufacturers had a sales booth present

Including Special Hobby - announcing new releases...

A local model shop...

Arsenal M kits n 1/87 scale

... it was the first time I saw these kits

And lucky me was allowed to buy one kit !

... a brand new release from the "new" KP

The way back home

It was a perfect end of a nice mini vacation in Moravia (East Czech Republic)

And my girlfriend liked the show as well... probably because of it's very family friendly nature
