Modellbrno 2015

This is one of the bigger shows in Central Europe   I already left by car on Wednesday evening   To pick up my girlfriend in Prague   ... and on Thursday we drove further east to Brno   Where we had a mini vacation   We could enjoy Ignis Brunensis ... the yearly International Firework competition at the lake   And we did some hiking along the lake   ... visiting the local castle   On Saturday I was allowed to visit Modellbrno   I arrived already in the morning   A lot of things to see and to do Note the Spitfire - which was a full scale replica   I failed to take a good picture of it ... but it appeared a few times in the background   All the vendors and all the clubs present   The contest took place on very long tables ... filled with many exquisite models   Starting with the smaller 144 scale aircraft category I found this very cool       Most entries though were in the popular 1/72 scale                           The bigger aircraft model categories           In the middle of the hall there was this nicely restored Praga V3S APM-90 military truck Together with the Spitfire replica it gave the show an extra touch Good organisation !   I think military models slightly outnumbered the aircraft models Starting again with the smaller scales 1/76 and 1/72                   One of my favorite models in the contest 1/72 scale rivalling the bigger scales... IMHO         1/48 scale... and bigger               Diorama's with a good sense of humour Love it !       Taking a short break with a walk outside... ... and enjoying the show from the R/C guys       Having a look at all the other categories Cars and trucks             Figure models ... including animals             Besides all the beautiful models in the contest ... there were plenty of other things to do and to admire The What If SIG   Demonstrations   As usually, there were many vendors again Mark I Models   Show casing their new - but (sadly) still unreleased - Beaufighter     I got myself the Super Albatros A consolation thingy...   Special Hobby   ... with a demo table of their new releases   I bought the brand new SV-4 ... of course   Eduard   RS Models   I couldn't resist the brand new Caudron   HPH Models   The award ceremony ... at the end of the day   I believe this was one of the models which took several awards   I left the show late in the afternoon   After giving in to one last temptation ... from Kora Models   All comments, remarks, corrections, suggestions are welcome   Previous reports on Modellbrno :   by Date Location     Images Modellbrno 2013 : KPM Brno : Friday/Saturday 21/22 July 2013 : Brno Exhibition Centre   Brno   Czech Republic   : 119
