I had to get up early ... for my favorite model show
There are really A LOT OF vendors ... but you have to get up early to get the best bargains
It is a 45 minutes drive west ... to the suburbs of Antwerp
Arriving around 8AM ... parking on the school play ground
The event takes place in a school
And slowly vendors were filling the available rooms
The hunt could begin...
I had never seen this before ... though it looked like my age
Big Airfix kits
I liked that Matchbox Porsche - at 15 euro (though it was started) 30 minutes later it was already gone...
Plenty of classic kits to browse through...
With the Heller group build in full swing...
A rare GRB-36 At 70 euro - too pricey for me ... but a few hours later it was also gone...
Dynavector vacs Luckily not my scale
The new Mach 2 Avro York
Plastic temptation rarely looked better...
More Airfix classics...
What about the classic Airfix Braniff International Jumbo Jet ?
... or any of the other airliners
The contest area
The small scale entries... Though these can still be big subjects
1/72 scale subjects...
And moving to the bigger 1/48 scale categories...
There were a few 1/32 aircraft kits in the contest
This was a very cool 1/48 scale diorama My show favorite...
Some entries from other categories...
A very impressive diorama
... with a lot of things to see on it...
... including a girl taking care of her cats
Time to go hunting again Modellbaustudio Rhein-Rhur is one of my favorite vendors at this show...
They are the main distributor of Classic Plane
A Privateer tanker...
... or some rare Antares Models subjects
Luckily I had read a review of the Bleriot 125 ... it's a little rough
Sooner or later I will not be able to resist this ... even if it is a vac kit But not this year !
Let's keep things easy...
... and try to add something to my national Chinese Air Force collection
I had never seen nor heard about AirKits
... but they have some cool old Soviet subjects...
The old Red Hurricane Tu-14 ... which is also a little rough around the edges
This one I already have
But not this one But it was kinda expensive...
Some oddball Belgian types
Aha ! One of my most anticipated releases of the previous year...
Such an elegant aircraft
And while we were at it...
But I had to let this one go Too many wheels and propeller tips to paint !
Inspiration for the Latin America & Africa group build
A promotion... The new Revell Halifax - complete ... but in a B-17 box
Some RS Models resin kits
The Tu-4 AWACS in the bigger scale...
Something for the old school modellers...
Bargain boxes...
The friendly people from WhirlyBird
... sold me some ideas for the Latin America & Africa group build
I also picked up some reading material
Supporting local writers/publishers...
... before I drove home in the late afternoon
Additions to my stash of shame
Thank you for your interest and support All comments, remarks, corrections, suggestions are welcome
