One of the highlights of the year...
And I was in South Africa Leaving on Thursday evening for Frankfurt
Arriving in Brussels Friday morning
And leaving again on Friday evening to Prague
... to visit my girlfriend
And on Saturday morning
... I took the early 5h50 train to Bratislava
I had 4 hours to wake up during the long train ride
Our good friend Miro picked me up at the station in Bratislava
... and together we drove accross the border into Hungary
Half an hour later we arrived at the show ... in the local sportshal
We were welcomed ... in many languages
Visitors from all over Europe Miro is pointing to my place in Belgium
The contest - and some vendors - are located in the sportshal
I started taking pictures very soon Starting with the aircraft categories
There were simply too many models, all crammed together on the tables I primarily focussed on models which were easy to take pictures of
So my pictures are more a random representation then just the "best" models
My favorite aircraft model Extremely well done weathering...
A little naughty ... but why not ?
Moving over to the tables with military vehichles
Note the "teddy bear"
One of my favorite diorama's...
As always, these military vehicle catgeories were the most popular ... covering almost half of the available contest tables
I think there must've been more then a 1000 entries Well it sure felt that way, while taking pictures
But it was NEVER boring !
Note the pilot...
Another favorite of mine...
The other categories... Including civilian vehicles, science fiction etc... Again - many, many inspiring and fabulous little works of art
The figure categories The quantity and quality in these categories is rising every year !
Very powerful work - scratch built !
Time to look around at the rest of the show Most of the vendors were located in the school next to the sportshal
In corridors...
... and classrooms
Special Hobby had test shots of their Renard R-31 on show
And of a few other future releases
Eduard premiered their new MiG-21 in 1/72 scale ... only 2 boxes left
So I jumped at it
Outside were possibilities for refreshments
... and fun (for children anyway )
Miro took me back to the station in the afternoon
So I could catch the 16h04 train to Prague
Enjoying some food during the 4 hour train ride
And checking out my new kits
I arrived around 20h in Prague
The next days I did some hiking with my girlfriend around Prague
And on Tuesday evening I flew back to Belgium
It was again a very lovely weekend Thank you all for your support and interest And again a special Thank You to Miro for helping me with transportation... All comments, remarks, corrections, suggestions are welcome
