The first show of the year
I left very early in the morning ... only to get surprised by snow (not forecasted !) - halfway of the two hour drive
In Waterloo I decided to turn back ... things got worse every minute and it became too dangerous to drive
Back home I had a whole day to work on my Shackleton
... and the Argosy
... and the Centurion
Luckily Pleins Feux sur le Maquettisme is a two day show So I could try again on Sunday morning ... with more favorable weather forecasting
I arrived around 8h ... well in time to secure a good parking spot (... because parking is a real b*tch at this show - hence my early departure)
Still I had to wait until almost 10h before the doors opened for the public
I started with exploring the contest area ... while there weren't that many visitors yet
There were two long tables One for all the figure models
With Fantasy figures on one side of the long table...
These are my favorite categories With many participants from neighboring countries you get lots of inspiring and original models ... all very beautifully made
Historical Figures were on the other side of the long table All of them again displaying incredible paintwork
This man with a grey beard looks kinda familiar
There were also several vignettes
... and there is now even a category for unpainted figure models
The other long table had all the other categories
Including the Scratch Build category
The Junior category
All the aircraft categories...
And all the military categories...
... including the diorama category
One of several cars in the Civilian Vehicles category
After taking pictures... ... it was time for a deeper investigation of the vendor area
Lots of second hand kits...
New Eduard releases...
It's been ages since I saw a Tamiya Saladin
Naturally there were lots of figure model vendors
Documentation
Should I start building World War I tanks ?
The new and even newer Airfix Mitchells...
Darn... I forgot which sets I already have
Maybe a small 144 scale Argosy is a good idea... ?
Somewhere in the early afternoon I hit the road back home
I hadn't bought that much Only one kit... to support a new manufacturer
Some cheap reference material
... and some after market things
Next year I have to bring a better camera ... lazy me learned again the phone camera is not ideal to take pictures of models Thank you all for your interest and support All comments, remarks, corrections, suggestions are welcome
