There are always good bargains at this show
Especially when you arrive early
What means (sigh...) getting up early
This year our good friend Claus would join me
I picked him up at 7AM at his hotel in Brussels
Unfortunately - and embarrasingly for me - my old car broke down halfway to Antwerp
Claus - the gentleman he is - had brought some goodies for me Now was a good time to surprise me with this... a classic Belgian car kit
... and (too !) many other kits - including a few vac kits
A few hours later we got towed home
I borrowed the car of the parents ... and we were back on the road
Of course we arrived much later
Luckily there were still plenty of good things to be found
One of my favorite vendors at this show is Modellbaustudio Rhein-Ruhr
Whit lots of interesting conversion kits
Do I spot a civilian P-61... ?
Inside the box is the old Frog P-61 kit with civilian decals It was the last box available - of 20 made ... and there was a civilian group build coming up
A brand new release was a Belgian Super Electra
... and a resin Fieseler F.2 Tiger (I had never heard of this type - but it looked interesting enough...)
We had a look at the contest area ... consisting of two long tables
One of them with mostly aircraft models in several categories... (You can see Claus chatting with my friend Kees)
This was funny Find the robot...
Holy smoking exhausts...
The event is organised by IPMS Antwerp They had a small club display
The other table had most of the military categories...
POW camp Tunesia...
German Tea Time Note the crew at the rear wheels...
One of my favorites Note the Tommy...
There were also several entries in the figure categories
Flanders 1914
Science fiction category
Civilian vehicles...
Daco Products had test shots of the new 1/32 scale Fouga Magister on show
We walked through the vendor area several times more in the afternoon
Still no available 1/72 scale decal sheet for a Dutch P-51
A Matchbox T-34 was doing it's best to get my attention Maybe next time...
Big and beautiful !
And this one... maybe next time too ! ... before it vanishes from the market
A closer look...
I had a short break together with Claus for a beer ... chatting with friends about the hobby
Soon more hunting followed
Some good candidates for the upcoming Civilian group build...
Maybe I should build another Shackleton ... and try to do it more justice this time
Another box full of nostalgia...
Again another Shackleton ? ... must be a sign ?
But I neglected it ... and we hit the road back home somewhere in the late afternoon
With my personal treat of the day
... and a bargain I couldn't resist at 26 euro
Later in the evening I took Claus back to his hotel It was the end of a most enjoyable day, which passed again much too quickly Meanwhile my car got fixed also - with a spare alternator Thank you all for your interest and support All comments, remarks, corrections, suggestions are welcome
