It had been 5 years since I visited this show During the past 4 years the dates clashed each time with a great show here in Belgium But luckily not this year !
I arrived late Friday evening in Prague
... after a short flight
And on Saturday morning I took a taxi to Prosek ... a 15 minutes drive to the outskirts of Prague
The event takes place in a local school
Entrance fee was 50 CZK, around 2 Euro (or around 2.20 USD)
A map to show us where all the vendors were ... and the contest itself
There were a lot of people ... and it was really warm in the contest room
I started with taking pictures from the figure categories... I was pleasantly surprised to see the quality in these categories had dramatically increased over the past few years
The theme of the contest was "Na šrot" ... or "Scrap"
Flat figures are also gaining in popularity in this show
There were also a lot of car models in the contest
My favorite Family cars don't often make it into plastic kit form (but luckily police cars do... ) ... and even less so to contest tables
There were also a lot of military vehicles ... even in the smaller scales
... and in 1/48 scale
Though most of them were in the popular 1/35 scale
The junior (16 - 18 years old) category for military vehicles ... all scales
The junior category (up to 15 years old) category for aircraft models ... all scales The future of the hobby is not yet in danger in the Czech Republic
The most popular categories - only by a small margin though... ... were the aircraft categories Especially in 1/72 scale
The bigger scale aircraft entries
Starting with a magnificent Hurricane in 1/24 scale...
There were several more models in 1/32 scale...
And of course 1/48 scale...
There were a few diorama's
Another show favorite...
This is one of the very few shows - which also has a Paper Model category ... with some impressive builds - in paper
Besides the contest there were - of course - also several vendors at the show
... including major kit manufacturers - like Special Hobby Who could be found in one of the classrooms
With art work for the upcoming brand new Sunderland
... and test sprues of the upcoming brand new Meteors
I got me an early Vampire
From JBr Decals and Sun Detail...
... I got some unusual decals ... and a resin after market set for the 144 scale P-36
The school kitchen was even operational for lunch ... perfect when you were looking for some fresh energy
The show is organized by KPM Prosek Panthers They had a very nice club display
Eduard was located in another classroom
They had test sprues available for fondling of the new 1/72 scale Fokker D-VII
... and the new - upcoming - 1/48 scale P-51D
One of the private vendors had some Topgun kits on offer
Since I am currently reading Phoenix Truimphant (the rise and fall of the Luftwaffe) ... I took a deeper interest in the Heinkel HD-19
It was a pity HR Model was not at the show ... but KitBazar had a few of those kits on the shelves
KitBazar also produces an injected improvement/conversion set for the old KP Bloch MB 200 kit
A few days earlier I had emailed an order to Artur Model shop ... for pick up at the show
Very practical...
I left around 16h - by taxi - to my girlfriends place
And after a cozy weekend with her ... I returned to Belgium on Monday evening
I had again a great time ... and I was very happy to be able to visit this show again - after all these years Bookmarking the date for the show next year :
Most pictures were taken with my old camera and a tripod ... which is an improvement over the smartphone freehand pictures from previous reports Thank you all for your interest and support All comments, remarks, corrections, suggestions are welcome
