This is one of my favorite shows Why ? Because there are lots and lots of great models to see
I left on Friday morning
... for a flight to Budapest
And on Saturday early in the morning I took the train
... to Bratislava
It is a two hours train ride
Plenty of time to get a good breakfast meanwhile
I arrived around 10h in Bratislava ... where Miro picked me up
Together we drove accross the border into Hungary ... to Mosonmagyaróvár - a 30 minutes drive
The holy place for one weekend for all modelers in the world
We were welcomed in many languages
There were visitors from all over Europe
... even from all over the world

I only took pictures of models I found interesting It was simply impossible to take pictures of all models
Unfortunatley I don't recall the scale of each model ... and with the high quality of the builds - it is very difficult to even try to guess the scale
So enjoy the mixed scale presentations ... and please accept my apologies for this small inconvenience

Miro treated me on a break ... with some of his friends ... including Franto, the man behind DK Decals
I couldn't resist getting some of his brand new releases directly from him
Picking up photography again ... with the Military categories
Again too many models ... in all popular scales
Ah...
I think I have another favorite Very clever work !
What you can do with the classic Matchbox kit...
The Civilian vehicle categories ... with also a lot of models !

... together with a mythical Australian band tour truck

Maybe this is my favorite
I love small details like this
I think this was the most funny model in the contest
Owww nice ! Powerful work - suggesting much, much more...
Another favorite
There were many other, smaller categories ... including Science Fiction
... and What If
Some work from the Ship categories...
There were several models in the Naked/Unpainted category
... and lots of models in the Junior categories
The show is a two day event And Miro was so kind to offer me a place to sleep overnight After having enjoyed a quick pizza in Bratislava
... we talked models all evening at his place
... admiring a part of his collection
And on Sunday morning we left very early again for the show Which opened at 7:00 ... when it is much easier to take pictures (less people)
Of course there was also some shopping to be done during these two days There was a mini market outside ... with local crafts and food
Most vendors were located in the adjacent school
In classrooms ... like Eduard
They premiered their brand new Fokker D.VII at this show
I got me the second last one
They also had the new yet unreleased 1/48 scale P-51 sprues on show
Many vendors were located in the school corridors

And of course there were several second hand vendors as well ... if you fancied a classic kit
Sunday afternoon ... Miro drove me back to Bratislava train station
... where I took the train back to Budapest
Meanwhile my girlfriend had arrived in Budapest
We enjoyed this beautiful city for a few days
... though not the weather
I flew back home on Wednesday ... with a lot of good memories
... and with some other purchases from the show
