I could not visit this show the past two years ... due to overlapping dates with the Euro Scale Modelling show in the Netherlands But not so this year
Good timing ! ... as Plastic Winter celebrated its 15th edition
I arrived in Prague the evening before
... and on Saturday morning I took the 05:52 train to Bratislava
Direction south... Plenty of time to wake up during the 4 hours train trip
Arriving in Bratislava train station at 10AM ... where our friend Miro was so kind to pick me up
Together we drove to the event
... on the outskirts of Bratislava
Entrance was free - as usually
I'm old I don't like to carry a tripod and camera with me all the time anymore So all pictures are snapped with my smartphone
Starting with the 1/72 scale aircraft categories
The beauties from the 1/48 categories...
1/32 scale...
There were about the same number of military vehicles in the contest
Starting again with the smaller scales...
The bigger scales...
The figure categories
Other categories
Of course we also did some shopping My first spending was on another Academy Storch
Special Hobby and Eduard shared a room
With Special Hobby at the right hand side...
... displaying work on their new projects
And I could already fondle the new 1/32 scale Westland Whirlwind
The surprise of the show was the availaibility of the brand new NF.12 ... while this was in fact not yet released ... because the instructions were not yet printed
But you could buy a pre-release - without instructions (These would be available for download from the website later...)
Eduard was on the left hand side
Plenty of high quality temptation... ... including Overtrees
I got me another cheap Fokker D.VII
But I was most interested in the small scale Platz reissues
There were plenty of other vendors
A Kora Models distributor...
Big scale nostalgia
Small scale nostalgia
Armory was visiting from the Ukraine Showcasing their brand new 1/48 scale Fairey Flycatcher...
AZ Models...
With the brand new MiG-19
And Kingfisher... ... which I didn't buy - yet...
Miro took me back to the station in the afternoon
... where I took the train back to Prague
... arriving in the evening
My girlfriend dragged me around the city for a few days
Luckily a quick model shop visit was permitted
... before heading back home on Tuesday evening
Thank you for your interest and attention ... and especially Miro for the company & the taxi services All comments, remarks, corrections, suggestions are welcome
